Milo Colours Awards on September 27

Sri Lanka Schools Milo Colours Awards will be awarded for 33 different school sports while a total of 501 athletes have been nominated for this year and the ceremony will be held at the BMICH on September 27, starting at 2p.m.

This is the 20th edition of the awards ceremony sponsored by Nestle Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and is considered the most anticipated sports recognition event in the schools sports calendar where boys and girls will be rewarded for their outstanding achievements in 2012.

Organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Sports Council under the patronage of the Ministry of Education the event has been a catalyst to promote and recognize talents of the school sportsmen and woman over the years.

At a press briefing held at CR and FC auditorium ,Bandula Egodage, Assistant Vice President (Corporate Affairs), Nestle Lanka Pvt Ltd mentioned that they had never gone behind so-called sports stars but always supported talented sportsmen and women from the grassroots level. He also added that recognition is the best gift an athlete could get and it is the best motivation as patrons and sponsors we could give.

Sri Lanka Schools Sports Council (SLSSC), organizer of the event, has considered national level and international level performances to select colours winners and has also asked respective sports associations to propose their annual lists for colours awards.

Cricket is a game of fine margins and Mathews is set to be a modern great. Hang in their Angie, this team can achieve something on this tour. Thirimane and the youngsters form was a real positive. Prasad was missed. Chameera should be persisted with. If Bairstow was our early outcome could have been very different.
