World Military Games 2015 Relay team eyeing Gold

CT Sports: Sri Lankan Men's 4x100m relay team finished as favourites to win Gold, as out of the two heats they won their heat with the best time at the 6th World Military Games continued at Mungyeong, Korea yesterday.


The Sri Lankan team comprising of Mohammad Rajaskhan, Mohammad Ashraff, Suranjaya de Silva and Yupun Abeykoon, clocked an impressive 39.67 seconds and beat Poland, Oman , Kenya, India and Switzerland, while USA was disqualified during the heats.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka 4x400m relay team comprising of Dilip Ruwan, Anjana Gunaratne, Ajith Premakumara and Kasun Kalhara Seneviratne, clocked 3 minutes 07.71 seconds to win heat 2 and advance to the finals . Nevertheless, they advanced as the sixth fastest team out of three heats.


Chandrika Subashini finished 6th in the women's 400m finals with a time of 54.33 seconds. The event was won by Naser Eid Naser of Bahrain with a seasonal best of 51.39 seconds.
Mohammad Rajaskhan finished second in the 200m heats with a time of 21.42 seconds to advance to the semi-finals, but couldn't advance to the final as he finished fourth in the semis with a time of 21.29 seconds.
Today will be the last day of the championship.
