Football-Dialog International Schools' Football C'ship kicks off on September 20

The International Schools under 19 Football tournament conducted by the Royal Institute International in association with the Football Federation of Sri Lanka ( FFSL ) will be held for the 11th successive year from September 20 until the first week of October at the Henry Pedris Park , Colombo.

This year the tournament is powered by Dialog Mobile Internet attracting 12 International schools that vie in two groups (group A and B)on a league basis in the preliminary stage.

The winners and runner-ups in the preliminary stage will go through to the semi finals which is played on the knockout basis, commencing in the first week of October.

Last year Colombo International School grabbed the trophy when they defeated Gateway Institute in the finals. The Football Federation youth talent search committee members will be at the matches to scout youth players which create an opportunity for the participants of the tournament to get in to National youth squads.

The tournament is refereed by department of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka appointed referees. The 12 teams and the Groups are as follows

Group - A - Gateway -Colombo, Elizabeth Moir, Royal Institute, Asian International School, Lyceum -Nugegoda, Gateway -Kandy

Group - B - CIS, British School Colombo, Belveir International, Lyceum-Wattala, Leighton Park, Alethea.

Cricket is a game of fine margins and Mathews is set to be a modern great. Hang in their Angie, this team can achieve something on this tour. Thirimane and the youngsters form was a real positive. Prasad was missed. Chameera should be persisted with. If Bairstow was our early outcome could have been very different.
