Football-St. Bernadette’s under 19 soccer champions

St. Bernadette’s Model School, Polgahawela Under 19 Football team continues to be all island champions for the last two years in their All Island School Football Tournament.

This tournament was held on September 15 and 16, 2012 at the Vernon Fernando Stadium, Kalutara and the event was organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association and conducted by the Education Department. 19 teams took part in this Girls Tournament. They gathered from all parts of the island.

St. Bernadettes Model School, Polgahawela beat Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala by four goals to three in the final match and won the 2012 Challenge Trophy too.

Kadukkamunai, Vani Vidiyalayam, Batticaloa beat Dodanduwa Rohana Balika Vidyalaya, Galle by one goal to nil and were placed third in this 2012 tournament.
