Sri Lanka finish third in Asian Sevens 2017 Colombo leg
Sri Lanka finished the third leg in third position, beating South Korea in the play-off. It was champagne rugby played by the top Asian rugby teams over the last two days. Unfortunately, continued heavy rain in Colombo did not help the playfield at the racecourse rugby stadium which resembled a paddy field.

Sri Lanka will finally host an international Karting event when next season’s opening X30 Asia Cup Challenge will be held at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit in Bandaragama, on Jan.13-14, 2018. David Peiris Racing & Leisure (Pvt) Ltd (DPRL) will sponsor the 2-day competition.

Rajeew Perera appointed Junior Rugby coach
Former Havies and Sri Lanka hooker Rajeew Perera has been appointed Sri Lanka head coach for the Junior Sri Lanka Under-19 XV-a-side rugby team ahead of the Junior Asian Rugby Championship to be held next month. Former Sri Lanka sevens player and Isipathana Coach Lasintha De Costa will assist Perera.
