Sri Lankan most experienced batsman and former skipper Angelo Mathews, who went on West Indies tour with the national team will be returning back to the country, due to a personal reason. This was confirmed by the Chief Executive officer of the SLC Ashley de Silva.
Meanwhile, pacmeanLahiru Gamage, who suffered an injury with a fractured finger while batting in the first test match also returns back home . Both players will arrive today(13) from Trinidad .However Sri Lanka who lost the first test on last Sunday getting ready tomorrow second test at St Lusiawith out Matthews and Gamage.
The selection Committee headed by GreameLabrooy decided to add all rounders DasunShanaka and Danushka Gunathilaka will go in as replacements. The duo will leave the country tonight.(13). However both Shanaka and and Gunathilaka could not reach to the tomorrow(14) second test match and Sri Lanka team already has to face difficulties to select final eleven for second test.
Greame Labrooy the Chairman said to the Srilankasports.com definitely both Dasun and Dhanusjka misses the second test so selector on tour head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe, Captain Dinesh Chandimal and Manager Asnaka Gurusinghe will paln for the the replacements. Dasun Shanaka who was named the deputy skipper of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team and Dhanushka Gunathilleka both now add for the National team .Labrooy said we wanted to name two repalcements for Dasun and Dhanushka for the Sri Lanka A team.
Lahiru Milantha wicket keeper batsman, paceman Vishwa Fernando, leg spin allrounder Chaturanga de Silva and off spinner Lasith Embuldeniya were already named from the standbys for the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team .
Meanwhile according to the reliable sources Dhananajaya de Silva and paceman Kasun Rajitha will get chance to paly second test against West Indies today. If Kasun will get chance that’s means his debut test tomorrow. However after the poor perforamces from opener Kusal Janith Perera who failed to impress the bat both innings during the first test once again will get chance second test as opener with Kusal Mendis while Dhananajaya will gt chance as number three batsman of the side .
