Bangladesh A trail after day two against Sri Lanka A

Host Bangladesh A team are two wickets down, replying to Sri Lanka A side’s 449 runs for the loss of eight wickets declared in 131.1 overs in the first innings of the first four-day match in Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium Wednesday.

At stumps on day two, the home side made 44 losing two wickets in 17 overs, openers Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar the two batsmen to be dismissed before the end of play.

The Lankans began the day on their overnight score of 170/4 in 60 overs, and stretched their innings to 449/8d before declaring their innings.

Lahiru Thirimanne topped the innings, scoring 168, including 14 boundaries and a couple of over boundaries. Charith Asalanka and Shammu Ahsan added 90 and 70 respectively.

Bangladesh A team’s Khaled Ahmed bagged four wickets while Abu Haider Rony picked up two.

Later, Bangladesh A team batted out 17 overs with Tushar Imran and captain Mosaddek Hossain remaining unbeaten on 12 and eight respectively.

Nisala Tharaka and Charith Asalanka notched one wicket apiece for Sri Lanka A side.
