Skipper Thisara Perera struck a timely 111 off 88 balls inclusive of 9 boundaries and 5 sixes to haul Sri Lanka A out of a precarious 129 for 7 to clinch a 67-run victory over Bangladesh A in the second one-dayer and draw level 1-all in the 3-match one-day series at the Sylhet International Stadium, Bangladesh on Thursday. The Lankans made 275 in 49.4 overs and dismissed Bangladesh A for 218 in 44.2 overs. .
Perera figured in a 77-run alliance for the eighth wicket contributing 69 of those runs together with Malinda Pushpakumara who held one end up scoring 8 as the skipper went on a run spree. The innings was beefed up by a lusty 36 off 36 balls by Shehan Madushanka containing 2 sixes and 2 fours in posting 44 runs for the ninth wicket with Thisara Perera. And a further 25 for the last wicket with Nishan Peiris who was unbeaten on 2. Up the order Upul Tharanga made 44 off 51 with 4 boundaries and a six.
Nayeem Hasan was the pick of the opposition bowlers with 3 for 42 while Sunzmul Islam claimed 2 for 21 and Shoriful Islam 2 for 74 respectively.
Al Amin top scored for the host team with 46 off 65 balls hitting 4 boundaries and a six with the next best of 32 from Zakir Hasan who made 32 off 27 with 4 boundaries and a six. Pushpakumara claimed 3 for 32 and Nishan Peiris 3 for 39 to complete the Lankans win. Thisara Perera was named Man of the Match.
