Chathurangi to lead Sri Lanka for Asian Netball in Singapore

Chaturangi Jayasuriya of Air Force Sports Club has been appointed as the national captain for the forthcoming Asian Netball championship which will commence from August 01 in Singapore.

According to the senior officials of the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka, 28 year old Airforce player is one of the senior players with 6 feet 11 inches tall while Tharjani Shivalingam and Gayani Dissanayake both former captain will add value to the team. Dharshika Abeywickrana was vice captain of the team.

“We are focusing to win the Asian crown. Our plan is very clear and we want to win the Asia trophy” was the spirit among the participants of the national team.

Sri Lanka nethall coach Thilaka Jinadasa said they are well organized to make a good team.  The team will be touring Malavi to play friendly encounters as a preperati0n for the Asian championship.
