Asian Challenge Cup Volleyball: Sri Lanka beat UAE to meet Iraq in semi-finals

Sri Lankan men’s volleyball team came out with superlative performances to beat United Arab Emireates in a virtual quarter-finals encounter of the inaugural Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup championship now in progress at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka defeated  UAE 25/21, 21-25 and 25-15 to enter the semi finals.

Speaking after the victory Sri Lankan coach said the team has gained lot ot experience thus far in the tournament and the victory against the UAE had boosted their confidence levels and now are ready to face the semi-finals this evening.

Sri Lanka will play Iraq in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile the President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation Minister Ranjith Siyabalapitiya said that he is very impressed with the successful performances of the Sri lankan spikers and hope that we had got the talent to beat Qatar in the semi finals.
