CWC 2019 to support UNICEF’s work for children

ICC Cricket for Good, in partnership with UNICEF, is delivering ‘One Day 4 Children’ at the England v India game at Edgbaston on 30 June. We want the world of cricket and its one billion fans to unite to ensure that children across the world have the chance to play, learn and be healthy with unique activations and fundraising both in stadium and across the live broadcast.

The money raised through #OneDay4Children will support UNICEF’s work for children in cricket playing nations across the world, with many projects using the unique power of cricket to deliver these objectives.

ICC Cricket for Good has, over the years, run a number of campaigns in partnership with UNICEF, but this is the first time we have used the platform of an ICC to drive fundraising to improve lives of children around the world and we’re hugely excited by what we might be able to achieve harnessing the power of cricket.

There will be a number of interview opportunities throughout the week, which will be detailed on our nightly advisories, and we would love for you to be able to support the day via your outlets and / or social channels, particularly on the day itself sharing with your readers how to donate etc. You can find more details attached and we’ll keep you up to speed..

We’re all lucky enough to be involved in this great sport and would love for you to celebrate that and help us make a difference by being part of  #OneDay4Children – perhaps I should think about an ICC donation based on the number of KGs of biscuits you go through during the event, although I’m not sure I have the budget!
