She expressed her views after Sri Lanka received the second consecutive defeat at the Netball World Cup 2019 today (13) from the hands of Northern Island with a 17 goals margin (67-50)

 “They didn’t move as they usually do. They kept on blocking. The other team were not running through. We didn’t have a lot of options offensively.

“The plan was to go one-by-one and work on our centre passes. Unfortunately we started to panic. It didn’t work well today.

“We have to be physical but we tried to play a clean game. I noticed that they [the Northern Ireland players] were going body to body. My players don’t like it. We need to get used to the aggressive play.”

Sri Lanka will play against Defending Champions Australia tomorrow (14) as their last preliminary round match at NWC2019.

Against an opponent it’s never faced, world number one Australia looked lost and confused at times in Liverpool on Saturday and despite beating Zimbabwe 73-37(HW)
