Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala stamped their class in School Netball

Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala stamped their class at the Milo All-Island Schools Netball Champions 2019 for the 12th successive year when they won the overall champions’ title at the 28th Schools Netball Championship which concluded in Kurunegala.

HFC Kurunegala Girls qualified for all the four finals in the age groups of Under-13, 15, 17 and 19. They won the Under 13 and Under 15 events while ending as runner-up in the Under 17 and Under 19 segments. HFC’s winning streak dates back from 2008 onwards.

Two outstanding players awards too were won by the Girl’s from Kurunegala. A.M.A.L. Abeysinghe (Under-13) and R.M. Chalani Nisha (Under-15) won the awards. Nethmi Wijenayaka of Musaues Colombo and Devna Randilu Silva of Kalutara BV were the best players in the Under 17 and Under 19 segments.
