Sri Lanka Rugby on Friday, in an open invitation, called out for any overseas players with Sri Lankan origin to come and play for Sri Lanka in international competitions.
The call is out for talented athletes from overseas who are interested to represent the senior national representative men’s and women’s rugby teams of Sri Lanka in both sevens and 15s format.
Sri Lanka Rugby outlined its World Rugby eligibility criteria as follows
- You were born in Sri Lanka;
- One of your parents or a grandparent was born in Sri Lanka;
- You have completed sixty consecutive months of Residence in Sri Lanka
immediately preceding the time of playing;
- You have completed ten years of cumulative Residence preceding the time of playing.
