The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) has named a 36-member provisional squad to follow a training routine ahead of the forthcoming South Asian Games scheduled to be held from December 1 to 10 in Kathmandu, Nepal. According to the draft, 30 swimmers will train locally while six will continue with their training overseas where they are currently based Sri Lankan swimmers won 12 golds, 16 silvers and 11 bronze medals at the 2016 South Asian Games with Matthew Abeysinghe grabbing seven golds.
