Member of Parliament Mayantha Dissanayake, the yonger son of Gamini Dissayanke while appreciating the commitment of his father Gamini Dissanayake for cricket conveyed their family’s gratitude to SPORTSINFO chairman Thilan Rangana for bringing this great concept to get a contribution again from great past cricketers to boost the morale of young cricketers in Sri Lanka.
The former president of Board of Control for Cricket Ana Punchihewa delivered the Gamini Dissanayake memorial special speech while the former sri lankan cricketer Sidath Wettimuny delivered the introduce speech of great Muttiah Muralidaran for the panel discussion.
Lakshitha Rasanjana of Nalanda College who was the best all rounder of the last school season was awarded the most prestigious SPORTSINFO Spirit of Cricket Gamini Dissanayake Award at the event. The former U-19 Nalanda College captain Lakshitha had shined as the best all-rounder at the last school cricket season with scoring 1061 runs including four centuries with the bat and grabbing 75 wickets with the ball.
Muttiah Muralidaran was formally inducted into the SPORTSINFO Legacy of Legend by the SPORTSINFO Chairman, Thilan Rangana for his great achievements of the game of cricket and for the service he has rendered for Sri Lankan community during the last decade.Hasitha Boyagoda, who broke a world record at the recently concluded world cup and got 9 As at the GCE O/L and 3 As from Commerce Stream at the GCE Advanced Level Examination, received the SPORTSINFO Spirit of Cricket award from Ranatunga while the 1996 World Cup winning captain was formally inducted into the SPORTSINFO Legacy of Legend club in 2018.

This lecture is a tribute to late Minister Gamini Dissanayake on his remarkable effort to win Test status for Sri Lanka in 1982 and the establishment of Asian Cricket Council.
This annual Cricket Lecture, is organized by SPORTSINFO with the prominent objective of boosting the morale and develop mind set of blooming school cricketers while guiding them to become a successive players in the future.
The young cricket captains and coaches of U-19 division I,II and III were participated for this cricket lecture with the ICC Deaf World Cup Winning cricket team.
