Bangladesh Under 19’s secured a 4-0 series win over Sri Lanka under 19 in the Under 19 Youth ODI series when they won the fifth and final match played at Chittagong by 50 runs yesterday.
Tawhid Hridoy starred for Bangladesh with a brilliant 111 off 102 balls
comprising 3 fours and 5 sixes. With Parvez Hossain who made 38, Hridoy put on a century stand for the fourth wicket to carry Bangladesh to 283-7 off their 50 overs.
Sri Lanka were dismissed for 233 in the 45th over with Ravindu Rashantha making a top score of 84 off 92 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Rashantha and Mohammed Shamaz (40) added 87 for the third wicket.
The first match of the series ended in a no-result and Bangladesh won the remaining four.
Tawhid Hridoy was the cornerstone of Bangladesh under 19’s win scoring 3 centuries and a half century in the 4 matches.
