Sri Lanka beat India 2-1 in ODI series

Sri Lanka defeated India by three wickets in the third one-dayer to win the Deaf Cricket Series 2-1 yesterday at the Surrey Village cricket ground in Maggona.

The Indians made 188 and the Sri Lankans were struggling at 54 for six wickets in 7.5 overs but a superb fighting partnership of 94 runs between A. Kalep and Rajitha Asanka guided them to reach the target in 33.1 overs.

Kalep made an unbeaten 38 in 81 balls while Asanka top scored 47 in 49 balls struck with seven fours.

Asanka and Sumudu Lanka who made an unbeaten 22 in 25 balls hit three fours and a six.

The Sri Lankan bowlers led by Gamidu Malkam made the Indians struggle for runs as Malkam the off spinner took 2 for 25 while Sachith Perera, Tharaka Jayasinghe and Sumudu Lanka also took two wickets apiece.

India won the first one-dayer by four wickets with one ball to spare but Sri Lanka made a good come back winning the second game.

The two teams will payed their only T-20 game today at the same ground.

This game could be more competitive as Sri Lanka beat India in the final to win the T20 World Cup last year.
