Covid 19 stand in between Sri Lanka and South Africa

Sri Lanka tour of South Africa has been threaten by Covid 19 .

It was revealed last night that 10 out of the 16 players in the South African Test squad are more likely to have contracted coronavirus. This is because 10 players who have participated in that tournament have played in local competitions in the recent past. Several players who recently took part in local competitions were infected with the corona virus

The two-match Test series between the touring Sri Lanka team and the South African team is scheduled to begin on the 26th of this month.

At-risk players include Aiden Markram, Dean Elga, Razi Vander Dussein, Lungi Engid, Byron Hendrix, Vian Mulder, Miguel Pretorius, Keshav Maharaj, Serrell Ervy and Keegan Peterson.

In this situation, if the players are infected with the corona virus, it will be difficult to find even 11 players for the tournament.

South Africa’s limited-overs tour to Sri Lanka in June 2020 has been postponed due the coronavirus pandemic as well.
