Akila Dhananjaya back in action

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dhananjaya, who was banned from international cricket for a year, will be allowed to bowl again at international cricket.

The videos of his new bowling style were handed over to the International Cricket Council by the Sri Lanka Cricket on the 22nd. It was confirmed that Dananjaya’s new posture is within the standard 15 degrees. Accordingly, Akila Dhananjaya has the opportunity to rejoin the team in a new manner.

In December 2018, it was first revealed that Akila Dhananjaya’s bowling style was not legal. There he tested his bowling posture and was given the opportunity to bowl again, but again in 2019 he was banned from bowling in international cricket, saying his posture was questionable. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to impose a one-year ban after Akila’s conduct was found to be illegal.
