Sanath Jayasuriya, a former captain of Sri Lanka and a member of the 96 World Cup squad, has stated that he has no intention of contesting the Sri Lanka Cricket Presidential election in May.
Sri Lanka’s leading newspaper published an article today (25) stating that he is one of the first three candidates to contest the upcoming Sri Lanka Cricket elections.
Responding to this, Sanath Jayasuriya has said that all the news reports that he will contest the upcoming election are untrue.
He has further stated that he is not interested in politics now and wants to work for cricket instead.
