Delhi Capitals (DC) registered their second win of the ongoing IPL 2021 campaign when they defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a high-scoring affair at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
Sent to bat first, PBKS got off to a flying start as skipper KL Rahul (61) and Mayank Agarwal (69) stitched together a 122-run opening partnership. Deepak Hooda (22*) and Shahrukh Khan (15*) boosted their total to 195/4 in the final overs. Chasing, DC kept their eyes on the target right from the start. Shikhar Dhawan scored a 49-ball 92 to take the contest out of the hands of Rahul’s side. Marcus Stonins (27*) and Lalit Yadav (12*) wrapped things up comfortably in the end with ten balls to spare.
