Virat Kholi at the post-press conference has stated, playing the extra batsmen is not the answer for India to bounce back for the oval Test on 2nd September.
He is of the view in English conditions 5 bowlers is a must to win a Test Match.
He went on to add that playing 6 specialist batsman , is not going to get you 20 wickets to win a Test Match in these conditions. If 5 specialist batsman cant do the job , can the 6th batter make the difference ? In my books, the answer is no he stated.
The sixth batsman can only give you two results. In my books, that’s a negative out look.
The way to go is 5 specialist bowlers , playing 6 specialist batsman means dropping an all-rounder like Ravindra Jadeja.
The media has now come to a conclusion that Ravindra Jadeja will be a bench warmer yet again for the Oval Test.
Ravindru Jadeja, has gone for a scan after jarring his knee at Headingley, and has even tweeted ” this is not a nice place to be in “.
The coming colours of a 3 seam and a 2 spin combination seems out of the window in the Indian camp this summer.
We are here to win and not play for a draw stated the Indian Captain. On the Headingley saga, former great Sunil Gavaskar has stated, that given the conditions and the New ball armoury on day 4, Kholi and co were never going to come back after in this Test after the dismissal of Kohli, Pujara and Rahane, with India on 239 for 5 Wickets.
Gavaskar was also critical about Kholi’s batting, stating his feat go nowhere , when aligning to play the English bowlers, hence the flaw in his technique is being exposed. He also is of the view that Kholi needs to contact the Little Master Sachin Tendulkar, and have a chat because Tendulkar has sought himself out during a dry run spell, by restructuring his batting stance, grip and footwork.
The former grèat was also critical about Kholi’s stubborn attitude of not bringing Ashwin to the equation, stating Aswin must be paying the price by warming the bench for speaking his mind out during team meetings.
Meanwhile former Sri Lankan great and the record holder of most Test wickets in world cricket Muthia Muralidharan has stated that Ashwin is an important cog in the wheel for India in Test Cricket in any conditions.
Shane Warne, in the skybox, has stated that England need to make two changes to this winning combination. The former Australian great is of the view that Sam Curren is a bit and pieces of a cricketer for the red cherry format but an asset in white-ball cricket hence he should be replaced by Mark Woods, or if the spin is on offer at the Oval included Jack Leach or Parkinson instead of the South Paw.
Finally here comes Warnys peculiar outlook, whilst stating England look settled in their batting with Dawid Malan at number 3 , he went onto add that Zack Crawley should be given a look . At the expense of whom is my question to Shane Warne?
Incidentally a news item from the third eye , Josh Buttler might not be available for the 4th Test since his wife is due for their first baby in early September.
