No room for a second spinner in the England squad for the 4th Test

England will go in with only one spinner for the forthcoming Test at the Kennington Oval on Wednesday. Mohin Ali seems to have secured his place in the English lineup.

England have a formidable bowling attack with the return of Chris Woakes, who is back from his ankle injury.

Mark Wood is bowling at the nets after jarring his shoulder, seems in no pain, hence England has an excellent choice of a competitive fast bowling unit.

No room for Zack Crawley as recommended by Shane Warne, instead the English think tank seems to have more confidence in Dan Lawrence.

Sam Curran might have to warm the bench and carry the drinks, it looks a fair call with Woakes and Mark Wood back for selection.

Sam Billings returns as the substitute wicketkeeper, it is envisaged that Jhonny Bairstow Will keep wickets since Jos Buttler will be not available due to family obligations.

Dawid Malan, Hasheeb Hameed , and Craig Overton are expected to retain their place in the playing Eleven because they have not done any harm with their performance in the last Test at Headingley.

What will India do? Will they follow England’s outlook in selecting their playing Eleven with 4 seamers and 1 spinner or look at a spin twin Jadeja, cum Ashwin attack and strengthen their middle lower-order batting with Ravichandran Ashwin in the fold.

Critics and experts are of the view, come on India don’t emulate your opponents, bring in the spin twins at the expense of Ishant Sharma, because England have 5 left-handers, hence Ashwin can spin a web around them.

Finally, the Joe Root scrips with three centuries in all three Tests played so far must be haunting Virat Kholi and coach Ravi Shastri.
