Four more players in Sri Lanka’s squad for Oman and World Cup

Sri Lanka Cricket  approved the addition of four more players to the Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming tour of Oman and the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup. This was at the request of the National Cricket Selection Committee.

Lahiru Madushanka has been ruled out of the World Cup squad for the World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Apart from him, the other four players named for the squad are Ramesh Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Ashen Bandara and Lakshan Sandakan, who are scheduled to leave for Oman on October 3

However, no final decision has been made yet on the inclusion of wicketkeeper-batsman Minod Bhanuka in the 15-man squad. Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper Kusal Perera is currently out with an injury and the final decision on Minod Bhanuka will be made after a final test on his fitness.

The Sri Lanka Cricket management is confident that Kusal Perera will fully recover before the World Cup. The squad for the World Cup has until October 10 to make the necessary changes.

Additional players:
