Kusal Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella and Danushka Goonetileke, who were banned from playing in local and international cricket, have been allowed to enter the local cricket field before the end of their sentences.
The Executive Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket, which met on the 12th of this month, have taken steps to ease the ban on local cricket after considering the positive reports received from the psychiatric advisors working with the three.
Accordingly, the three of them will be able to play in the inter-club cricket tournament which starts at the end of this month and Mendis and Gunathilaka are preparing to represent the SSC team and the Dickwella NCC team.
This relaxation will apply to domestic grounds, but the one-year international cricket ban and the two-year international ban imposed on them will remain in effect.
