Scotland qualify for the Super 12 with a 17 run win over PNG

Winning the toss and electing to bat first Scotland made a match winning total of 165 runs for 9 Wickets in their alloted 20 overs in their 2nd game in a group B game at Oman Cricket Academy a short while ago.

Richard Berringhton who won the man of the match award with an excellent batting display by 71 runs to lead the charge.
Struggling on 26 runs for 2 wickets Berringhton found support from Calum Macleod who made 45 runs, and the pair stitched a 92 run partnership for the 3rd Wicket.
The pippers looked at a bigger pitchure with the score on 151 for 3 wickets. Kabua Morea and Chad Soper got among the wickets to scalp 7 wickets in the latter part of the Scottish innings to restrict the men in dark blue for 165 for 9 wickets.
Morea took 4 for 31 , whilst Soper took 3 24.
PNG never looked in the hunt as they lost 5 wickets for 35 runs in the power play overs.
Norman Vanua made a brilliant 47, with Sese Bahu 24 and a late flourish by kiplin Doringo 18 and Soper 16, which helped the minows to a respectable 148 all out.
Josh Davey got among the scalps with 4 for 18 and was the pick of the bowlers for the winners.
A good win for Scotland, and they are through to the super 12 round.
