Fanstastic batting by Asalanka and Bhanuka help Lions tame the Tigers

Winning the toss, Dasun Shanaka opted to field first. Sri Lankan bowling minus Theekshana put pressure on the 4 seamers that Sri Lanka had to put on a show.
Bangladesh did a sterling job with their batting effort. Nahim Sheik and Musfiqur Rahim were simply unstoppable. Nahim made a fantastic 62, but it was the old Fox Musfiqur Rahim, his unbeaten 57 got Bangladesh to a winning total of 171 for 4 wickets.
Sri Lanka came with the objective of taking the tigers by the tail. Asalanka and Pathum Nisanka took the winners to an excellent power-play score of 51.
Kushal Perera dismissed in the first over did not ditter the Lankan chase. With the dismissal of Nisanka and Fernando in the same over, both batters bowled by Shakib Al Hassan in the same over with the score on 71 in the 9th over, nobody gave the Lankans a win in the lung opener.
Bhanuka joined Charith and the two left-handers catered the Bangladeshi bowlers to all around the park.
An 84 run partnership, by the two left-handers were simply out of the blocks. Akalanka ended unbeaten on 80, whilst Rajapaksha the birthday boy did his job before being bowled for 53.
The job was done. Both Sri Lankan and the Bangladeshi bowlers were not impressive, Lahiru Kumara looked impressive for Sri Lanka, whilst Shakib Al Hassan was excellent for his 2 wickets for 14 runs.
