Eoin Morgan the England captain had no hesitation in opting to bowl first against arch rivals Autralia to day.
The top order was bamboozled by Chris Woakes , Chris Jordan , Adel Rashid and Liam Livingstone asvthey were bowled out for 125 runs in their alloted 20 overs.
Aaron Finch was the only Australian batter who made a top score of 44 , with Aston Ager , who replaced Mitch Marsh , with a valuable 20 , whilst Pat Cummins , Mitchel Starch getting into double figures of 12 and 13 to add abit of respect to Australian dismal batting performance. Mathrw Wade wiith 18 looked in good nick with the bat , however he too perished caught by Jason Roy off Liam Livingstone, as Australia dipped to 5 wickets for 51.
England made a meal of the Australian bowling attack. Jos Buttler unbeaten on 71 led the the charge. The right hander cartered 2 sixes on the trott off Mitchel Stark , after which , he took Adam Zampa , the hero of the Sri Lankan batters , for three consecutive sixes , in an exibition of quality batsmanship against quality leg spin.
It was all over by the 12th over. A comprehensive win by 8 wickets with 7.4 overs to spare spells an awful script for an Australian reading.
England look set to qualify for the semi finals , since they have only Sri Lanka and South Africa to play in the back end.
Good comprehensive win by England , Australia will be concerned in getting to the semi final stage with South Africa , breathing down their throat.
