South Africa put into bat by Eoin Morgan, made 189 runs for 2 wickets against a top bowling attack of England.
The pitch in Sharjah was good for batting. The ball came onto the bat , and batters got value for their stroke play.
Van der Dussen is proving to be a fine player for the proteas as he tooknthe English bowlers to the cleaners with his unbeaten 94. Auden Markram joined the run feast and made an unbeaten 52 , with Quinton De Kock 34 , which enabled the protease to register a match winning total of 189 for 2 wickets.
England no doubt were in tge hunt. However the injury to Jason Roy , and the early dismissal of Jos Buttler for 26 , hampered their unblemished record in this World Cup.
Jayson Roy limped off the batters crease for 20 , with a leg ingury.
Moheen Ali made 37 , Darwin Marlan 33, Liam Livingstone 28 , and Morgan 17. Sadly for England they gave a hat trick to Kagisgo Rabada in his final over , hence fell short by 10 runs.
Based on the run rate formular Endland needed only 87 to get a slot in the Semi Finals , whilst South Africa needed to restrict England to less than 131 , to ouster Australia from going through.
They won South Africa, but go back home after having played excellent cricket.
