A team of 22 members is to play for the upcoming West Indies series,originally known as the Sobers-Tissera trophy. The 22 include some new faces that captured the attention of many Sri Lankans in the recent past.
Starting from Suminda Lakshan, this 24-year-old experienced leg spinner who plays for Army cricket club was a part of Sri Lanka’s A team, which took place in the past few weeks.
Chamika Gunasekara, a young fast bowler who enthralled cricket fans with his recent achievements against the Pakistan A team. He’s a product of Ananda College and currently plays for Nondescripts cricket club.
Kamil Mishara is the youngest player of the squad. As a young and a fine player he makes sure to imprint remarkability wherever he goes. His scintillating performance against the Pakistan A team was a brilliant achievement for a 20-year old champ.
Charith Asalanka needs no introduction. The player of the match of T20 world-cup series twice, Asalanka rose from the grounds of Richmond College,Galle. His performance in the recent T20 World Cup matches agaped the mouths of Worldwide cricket fans and this time he’s been chosen for the test squad.
Lasitha Embuldeniya and Angelo Mathews are also back in action against the Windies. Along with 3 fine A Team player and fine World-cup star, the squad of 22 is ready for the West-Indies series that’s scheduled to start on the 14th of November in Galle. The team would be captained by Dimuth Karunaratne.
