Tim Paine has resigned as Australian Test captain with immediate effect. This came after his accusations on misconduct with a female employee of Cricket Tasmania.
His decision to resign came today as he was accused of misconduct several years ago and took the decision to step down from the role. The CA stated “Tim Paine has advised the board of Cricket Australia of his decision to stand down as captain of the Australian men’s Test team, effective immediately.”
The selection panel are in the process of identifying a new leader for the Australia Men’s Test Team. Vice Captain of the side Pat Cummins is a likely successor of Paine. The fast bowler made his debut 10 years ago as of yesterday and was also part of the T20 World Cup,
