Angelo Mathews has pulled a hamstring in the Test Series against West Indies and is doubtful of play the LPL. After not being part of the team in the first auction, he was later drafted into Colombo Stars.
He was captain of the Colombo Kings last year in the LPL 1st Edition. His injury concern makes way for a new leader. Among the possible candidates are Dhanajaya De Silva, Kusal Janith Perera and Dinesh Chandimal. All three players were not in the first draft but were later added.
It is likely that Kusal Janith could be the new captain as he was last year’s captain for Kandy Tuskers. The LPL is to commence on Sunday and the new captain is yet to be announced.
