Though said to have recovered, the fitness test will play an important role in playing for the upcoming tour and therefore, there is a likelihood for the captain to miss out on the series. Sri Lanka Cricket has been stringent on their fitness standards and Dasun Shanaka will have to pass the required standard on the 7th of January.
