Dunith Wellalage scored his Maiden Century today in the Under 19 World Cup. Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 65 runs to book a place in the 5th place playoffs.
Dunith an Ranuda Somaratne put a 120 run stand to post 232 runs for the loss of 6. Dunith hit a captain’s knock of 113 runs. Ranuda scored an unbreaten 57 runs. Kwena Maphaka (3/60) and Mathew Boast (2/21) were among the wickets.
South Africa in the chase only managed 167 runs. Traveen Mathew, Shevon Daniel and Raveen De Silva pick two wickets each. Sri Lanka advance to the 5th place playoff match (Super League consolation finals) with this win. They will play against the winners between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
