Cummins’s record half century helps KKR win by five wickets

Mumbai Indians had set up the game very well until Pat Cummins came in and smashed them out of the park in Pune. KKR needed 35 runs to win off 30 balls at the start of the 15th over and Cummins ended up finishing the game at the end of it.

He equalled KL Rahul’s record for the fastest half century of all time in the IPL and ended the match unbeaten on 56 off 15 balls. Before Cummins’s blitz, MI had managed to keep KKR in check in the 162-run chase, not allowing them to have steady partnerships and remaining tight with their lines and in the field.
