Isipathana School Colombo were crowned the 2022 Schools Rugby League winners today (14), defeating the defending Champions Royal College Colombo. Ultimately, the undefeated Isipathana side clinched the match 21 to 15, and regained the Major Milroy Fernando Memorial Shield.
The decisive Super Round encounter to decide the Champions of the Schools Rugby League tournament was held at the Havelock Park in Colombo on Sunday (14).
Isipathana remained undefeated after winning all 6 games held since the preliminary round; Royal lost just one match.
In the first half of the game, Royal College were on top ending the half on 10-6. In the second half, Isipathana took over scoring 15 points, while Royal managed just 5 points in the second.
Isipathana College have not won the tournament since 2017; while Royal College were crowned champions in the last tournament which was held in 2019.
