Ros Whitfield takes England U19 to a comfortable position with a centaury over Sri Lanka

England U19 were 199 for 3 in their second inning with a lead of 179 at the close of play day 3 of the 1st Youth Test against Sri Lanka at the Country grounds Chelmsford.

Ros Whitfield made a century (110) for England lions while Ben Mckenney contributing with 56 runs.

Resuming their first inning on the day 3 Sri Lanan U19 were bowled out for 407. Asitha Wanninayaka was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with a brilliant centaury (132) . Ranuda Somarathna and skipper raven De silva scored 65 and 62 respectively to take Sri Lanka over 400 run mark.

England U19 scored 387 runs in their first inning.
