Sri Lanka Past 300-run Mark As Bad Light Forces Stumps

Sri Lanka ended Day 1 of the first Test against New Zealand at 305/6 after bad light forced an early stumps. Currently, Dhananjaya de Silva (39*) and Kasun Rajitha (16*) are standing unbeaten at the crease.

For New Zealand, Tim Southee scalped three wickets while Matt Henry and Michael Bracewell took two and one wicket respectively. New Zealand will be going up against Sri Lanka in the first Test of the two-match series, at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Thursday.

New Zealand expect record-breaking batter Kane Williamson to be “ready to go” against Sri Lanka despite his late arrival because of a bereavement. Williamson has remained at home in the build-up to attend a memorial service on Wednesday for his grandmother.
