Shimron Hetmyer’s unbeaten knock of 56 runs off 26 balls, along with Sanju Samson’s brilliant half-century, helped RR easily chase down the target. Earlier, RR had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Shubman Gill and David Miller scored 45 and 46 runs, respectively, which helped GT post a total of 177/7 in 20 overs.
While chasing the target, RR opener Jos Buttler lost his wicket to Mohammed Shami, who took three wickets for 25 runs. However, Samson came to the ground and displayed a brilliant performance, scoring 60 runs off 32 balls, including six sixes and three fours. Finally, Hetmyer’s winning six led RR to win by three wickets with four balls to spare. With this win, Rajasthan Royals takes lead in the points table.
