In the 50th T20I match of the TATA IPL 2023 between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Arun Jaitley Stadium, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. In RCB’s innings, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave a good start, scoring 55 and 45 runs respectively. Virat Kohli also became the first batter to reach the milestone of 7000 runs in the IPL. Mahipal Lomror’s unbeaten 54 runs off 29 balls helped RCB post a total of 181/4 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets for DC.
In response, Phil Salt displayed a brilliant batting performance, helping DC chase down the target with 20 balls to spare. He scored 87 runs off 45 balls, including 8 sixes and 6 fours. Josh Hazlewood, Karn Sharma, and Harshal Patel took one wicket each for RCB. DC secured their fourth win in the last five matches with a 7-wicket victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
