Skipper Dellon Peiris had superb all round performances as Sri Lanka Emerging cricket team defeated Japan by five wickets in the opening T20 at the Sano International Cricket Ground on last Wednesday. The Lankans made 98 for 5 off 15.3 overs in overtaking Japan’s 97 for 6 off 20.
Kendel Kadoaaki scored 21 runs for Japan while other contributions came from Marcus Thur (14), Reo Sakurano (14 n.o.) and Ibrahim Takahashi (13).
Sri Lanka Emerging captain Dellon Peiris took bowling honors taking 3 for 21 while a run a ball 25 hit by Ranmith Jayasena inclusive of a six, Dunith Jayatunga (22) and Dellon Peiris (17) and Sahil Dias (13) guided to reach the target in 15.3 overs. Japan’s Ibrahim Takashi impressed with the ball taking 3 for 17.
