Afghanistan won the toss and decided to invite Sri Lanka in the first ODI at the Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium in Sooriyawewa Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankans will be with two new comers as ace bowler Matheesha Pathirana and Dushan Hemantha received their ODI cap respectively. Dasun Shanaka will lead the side and he will received the top two senior players Dimuth Karunarathna and birthday boy Anjelo Mathews.
Star spinner Rashid Khan will be sidelined for Afghanistan’s opening two matches of the three-ODI series against Sri Lanka due to a lower back injury.
