A 19 member Sri Lanka Junior badminton team left for the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023 which already started yesterday (10) in Indonesia.
This is going to be a good exposure for Junior shuttlers and they had good preparation before this tour under the supervision of Sri Lanka Badminton said Sri Lanka Badminton President Rohan de Silva.
The Championships consist of mixed team championships and individual championships. Fourteen teams will compete in the mixed team event which will start first, while the individual events will be held from July 12 to 16. All Sri Lankans will be competing in the individual events only.
The shuttlers, coached by Bimal Kotalawala who is also the Manager of the tour are taking part in this Championships while the under-19 events will be worked off at the Among Rogo Sports Hall in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Badminton Association of Indonesia hosts the tournament under the guidance of Badminton Asia.

SL Junior Girls Squad: Ranithma Thinudi, Irushi Amandi, Praweena Theshani, Nethanga Vindini, Sanadhi Dahamsa De Silva, Dewmi Mithara, Thevni Thisandi, Hiyumi Hasara, Chiranya Jayawardana.
