Brilliant batting by Quinton de Kock, who scored an unbelievable 174 runs, helped South Africa set a mammoth target of 382/5 in 50 overs. Heinrich Klaasen and skipper Aiden Markram added 90 and 60 runs respectively to South Africa’s total.
In reply, Bangladesh lost their opening wickets regularly, but Mahmudullah’s powerful 111 runs were not enough for victory as South African bowlers dismissed Bangladesh for 233 in 46.4 overs. Gerald Coetzee took 3 wickets, while Marco Jansen, Lizaad Williams, and Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets each for South Africa. However, South Africa won by 149 runs, securing the second spot in the points table.
