After a stunning victory by Pakistan, they moved to fifth place on the points table, knocking Bangladesh out of the semi-finals race. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. Mahmudullah and Shakib scored 56 and 43 runs, respectively. For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Wasim took 3 wickets each.
Chasing the easy target, Pakistan’s openers, Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman, built a 128-run partnership for the first wicket before Abdullah Shafique fell to Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Eventually, Pakistan lost 3 wickets and chased down the target with 105 balls to spare.
