Three Lankan doctors at ICC World Medical Congress

Sri Lanka Cricket Medical Committee Chairman Prof Arjuna de Silva, Dr Daminda Attanayake and and Dr Asela Ratnayake will take part at the seventh World Congress on Science and Medicine in cricket which scheduled to be held in Chandigarh, India today.

Professor Arjuna de Silva who is also the head of the Sri Lanka Anti Doping Agency (SLADA) said in continuation of the work done in the previous six editions of the World Congress on Science and Medicine in cricket all of which were held during the ICC one day world cup and once again we got chance to take part in the event. the proceedings of this congress will be published and circulated in the form of a book which would be of immense value to anyone associated with the game .We came here to take part in this event with our own money.

Dr Daminda Attanayake who is a member of the ICC Medical Committee said the best academic minds in the field of science and medicine focused on improving all aspects of cricket will converge at this venue with representatives from all major cricket playing nations.

The doctors representing Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa, England, India, Sri Lanka will take part in the World Congress. The three Sri Lankan doctors Prof Arjuna, Dr Daminda and Dr Asela will speak at this event.Dr Asela Ratnayake will be one of the Sports medicine consultants for cricket while who is currently doing his foreign training in Singapore said Prof Arjuna.
