Unbeaten Colombo South U15 emerged champion of the Sri Lanka Youth Under 15 Cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday.
Unbeaten Colombo South U15 beat Colombo North U15 by runs in the final played at MCA on yesterday.
5 Super province teams participated in this tournament named Colombo South U15, Colombo North U15, Galle U15, Kandy U15 and Dambulla U15. Colombo South U15 and Colombo North U15 entered the final as champion and runner up in the first round.
Colombo South U15 won the toss and elected to bat first. Colombo South U15 scored 256 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs.
Rehan Peiris made second ton in this tournament. Opener Rehan Peiris scored 129 runs in 129 deliveries with 5 boundaries and 10 sixes. Rehan Peiris and Lasiru Sandakan (40) made 120 runs stand for their 2nd wicket partnership.
Senith Nethsara, Dasith Perera and Lahiru Lakmal claimed 2 wickets each.
Colombo North U15 were bowled out for 170 runs in 47.1 overs. Sadeesha Silva (47), Lahiru Lakmal (28) and Yenula Danthanarayana (23) helped to build their innings. Janul Damhiru claimed 2 wickets.
