Eighteen teams have been pooled into three groups are taking part at the second longest running MCA partnership – the 21st David Pieris Group of Companies powered, MCA “E” division 25-Over League Tournament.
They will vie for the David Pieris Group of Companies Challenge Trophy which began on December 3.
The tournament matches are being played at MCA, St. Joseph’s College, Darley Road, D.S. Senanayake College Grounds, Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya , NSCA Ratmalana, De Mazanod College, Kandana, Royal College, Colombo and Prince of Wales – Moratuwa.
Sanasa Life Insurance will be making their debut at MCA Cricket from this tournament while he group stage of the tournament, consisting 45 matches have got underway and will continue until January 14th and this tournament will give much needed match exposure for the players of Mercantile sector said MCA President Mahesh de Alwis.
In the previous final that took place on 11th February 2022 at the MCA Grounds, Hayleys Group ‘B’ beat Stafford Motor Co. by three runs.
The league stage will be followed by the ‘Knock-Out’ stage will consist of seven matches the Quarter Finals on January 20, the Semi Finals on January 27 and the Final on February third at MCA Grounds.
Group ‘A’– Emar Pharma (Pvt) Ltd, John Keells Group “B”, Slim Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, Amana Takaful PLC, Brandix Essentials “A”, and Expo Lanka Freight.
Group ‘B’ – HSBC, Abans Group, PABC Bank, George Steuart Health (Pvt.),LOLC “B” and Teejay Lanka PLC.
Group ‘C’ – Commercial Credit &; Finance, Ceylinco Insurance PLC, MAS Silueta,Sanasa Life Insurance PLC, Akbar Brothers (Pvt.) Ltd, and Janashakthi Insurance PLC.
