The Sri Lanka Athletics Association has referred the National Junior Athletics Squad to Sports Minister Mr. Harin Fernando.
It includes 22 male players and 12 female players.
The new squad will help to identify Sri Lankan athletics teams for next year’s Asian Junior Athletics Tournament and World Junior Athletics Championship.
The next Asian Junior Athletics Championship will be held in Dubai from 23rd to 27th April an d the next World Junior (under 20) athletics tournament is scheduled to be held from August 26 to 31, 2024 in Lima, Peru.
Sri Lanka expects to send a Sri Lankan team of 12 athletes for the Dubai Asian Junior Tournament, and the Sri Lanka Athletics Institute hopes to recommend at least four athletes for the World Junior Athletics Championship.
